THE HAUNTED: 'Trenches' Video Available

February 23, 2009

"Trenches", the new video from Swedish metallers THE HAUNTED, can be viewed below. The clip was filmed in December 2008 in Gothenburg, Sweden with director Daniel Larsson of Addictive Alliance.

THE HAUNTED has just completed an extremely successful European co-headlining tour with ALL THAT REMAINS. Guitarist Anders Björler states, "We got back from the ALL THAT REMAINS tour about a week ago and it's been an awesome ride. Cool guys (and girls),pretty much on the same level as ourselves. It was a very relaxed and laid-back tour for us, where we could concentrate fully on making good shows each night. Sharing a bus has never been so easy. We want to thank all the people who came down to the shows, making them very special. We appreciate it a lot! Most of the shows were sold out which was an amazing experience for us all.

"We will continue the European leg in late March with some additional shows in Spain, Greece and Turkey. Turkey is a first for us, so we are very excited to come there to play.

"We head off to the U.S. in April with NACHTMYSTIUM plus support which we are looking forward a lot to. We haven't played the U.S. since springtime 2007 and it's definitely about time to go back. Wal-Mart and Denny's — we miss you!

"Today is also the premiere for the 'Trenches' promo video. Shot and directed by Daniel Larsson. This one turned out really cool indeed, and we are very happy about it. It took some hard work in the green screen studio though, all covered in mud and dirt."

"Trenches" comes off the group's latest album, "Versus", which sold around 1,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This represents roughly half of the opening tally of its predecessor, "The Dead Eye", which premiered with 3,200 units back in November 2006.

"Versus" entered the Swedish chart at position No. 14 and the Finnish chart at No. 12.

An e-card for "Versus" can be found at this location.

The CD was recorded in part at PUK studio in Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (HEAVEN SHALL BURN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MOONSPELL, etc),who previously worked with the group on its two most recent LPs, "rEVOLVEr" (2004) and "The Dead Eye" (2006).

THE HAUNTED will return to North American shores this spring to headline a stellar package tour. Throughout the month of April, the band will be ravaging cities alongside NACHTMYSTIUM, KYLESA and INTRONAUT — a show that any fan of extreme metal will want to check out.
